Humanscale invited Milan Design Week visitors to re-energize at their concept space: Re:CHARGE Café, filled with greenery, biological lighting, and well-being.
RE:CHARGE Café supported the harmonious blends of work and sociability, relaxation and recharge – all synonymous with the Humanscale brand. For over 30 years, the New York, London and Hong-Kong-headquartered Humanscale company pioneers ergonomics and wellness in the workplace. They call themselves “global leaders in developing innovative, functional work tools for a better human experience”. Their commitment is to make a net positive impact on earth as well as on their customers.
Humanscale brought this engaging and innovative café concept to the Brera Design District, in collaboration with designer Todd Bracher. Intriguing was the exploration of biological lighting science and its connection to wellness; following the circadian rhythms. Sounds complicated but the story is withing a special lighting system that represents a step forward for mental well-being and the impact on physical health – further demonstrating the brand’s commitment to design innovation, health, and wellness.
“Some think that great design is a balance between functionality and beauty, I don’t believe this is the case. All of nature is beautiful, and at the same time, it is completely functional. This concept is core to the Humanscale brand and the inspiration for the RE:CHARGE Café in Milan, a space that embodies functionality, simplicity, and well-being, whilst at the same time is still very beautiful.” Bob King CEO and Founder, Humanscale.
“A lot of companies try to do less harm to the environment in the most convenient and inexpensive way. At Humanscale, we believe that this is not nearly enough. We believe that every organization should be self-sustaining. It must continuously work to find ways to restore, renew or revitalize its own sources of energy and materials. This is how nature works and the only way we can ensure the long-term survival of our planet. we believe it is our responsibility to make a net positive impact on the earth and we do by using healthy materials, sustainable processes and giving back to our communities.” Humanscale
