Can “end-of-life” be the “start-of-a-new-life”? Questions Kvadrat.
At upcoming Salone del Mobile (April 4-9, Milan- Italy) Kvadrat will launch Really, a new furniture and interiors material made from upcycled textiles, responding to the urgent global issue of waste. Danish Kvadrat announced recently the acquisition of 52% of stakes in Really, a Danish sustainability start-up initiated as a response to the urgent global issue of waste.
Really upcycles end-of-life textiles into the engineered material called Solid Textile Board. Really is a high-density material made from end-of-life cotton and wool from the fashion and textile industries, households as well as Kvadrat’s selvedge waste. Designed for furniture and interior design, Kvadrat and Really aspire to challenge the architecture and design sector to rethink their use of resources.
This debut collection of Solid Textile Board will be launched during the Salone del Mobile trade show, with projects by designers Max Lamb and Christien Meindertsma.
